Kailin Anil is a fairly commonplace peasant girl who was blinded by the fever when she was six. Now, a decade later, her simple life revolves around the village, the mountains, her older brother Rune; and every once in a while, strange dreams which she can never really remember.
That is, until a band of soldiers shows up one day, and Kai' is snatched away by someone intent on protecting her - not for who she is or what she can do, but for what she has that makes her able to do them.
The basic story of Catalyst was written back in 2004, as a rather retarded novel-type thing. Give or take a few months, a current estimate is that Catalyst will end in about four years (2010), if two page updates occur every week. Two page updates are currently not occuring every week, so it might wind up being much, much later.
This comic started in December 2005.

Alias: Crystal

Esther is more generally known online as Crystal. She is currently a Computer Science student in Michigan Tech, USA, but she likes doing an awful lot of other things besides computers and art, which are probably not worth the time taken to list here. She has a social life, and it kind of acts like a kitten; you want to keep it but it gets in the way.
Crystal is originally from Malaysia, has a suitably foreign accent (which has been somewhat corrupted by the barbarians :P) and really enjoys making all of her characters as worthless and overwhelmingly emo as possible.
